Family Search Indexing is currently preparing the Cape Province Dutch Reformed Church records to be indexed!!!! YEAH!

I was recently a PM tester and added suggestions before they make it available to the general public.

Soon it will be available for all volunteers to index. Keep checking on their Current Projects list.

Please volunteer to index these records as the more that do, the quicker we can have these indexes for our research.

This is also a test to see how many people are interetes in these records and if there is a good response of volunteer extractors, they may do other South Africa records in the near future! So please sign up! Click here to sign up!

Almost 3 years ago now, I spent the Spring and Summer (May-July 2006) in the UK and Europe doing Family History and genealogy research. I researched in archives such as The National Archives of England and British (in Kew, London), The National Archives of Scotland (in Edinburgh), The National Archives of the Netherlands (in Den Haag) to name a few, and many other local and department archives across France, England, the Netherlands and Scotland!

What a journey it was and how much I learned and experienced.

Rosemary Dixon-Smith does a great job at writing a beginners guide for South African researchers.

Furthermore, I found she wrote a list of sources for St Helena ancestry research.
